The structure-remediation lane closed on 21 June: all 47 enriched pages now conform to the locked v2 structure, with footnoted sources and zero inline styles. The final batch — eight early-singles pages — doubled as a case study in why quick-facts must be synced to page-verified content rather than inherited furniture. Take counts corrected against Lewisohn in that one batch: 21→17 (I Want to Hold Your Hand), 22→9 (A Hard Day’s Night), 22→4 (Can’t Buy Me Love), 16→2 (Twist and Shout) — and She Loves You corrected to a dash, because the session documentation no longer exists and a reference site should say so rather than invent a number.
Restructured pages consistently shrink — the exemplar went from 69,580 to 48,710 bytes — which is the point: the structure removes inherited boilerplate and keeps what the sources support.
Infrastructure week
The 22nd was an infrastructure day. The sitemap is now rebuilt by a generator backed by a content-hash manifest, so a page’s lastmod advances only when its bytes actually change — no more whole-site date churn telling search engines everything changed when nothing did. Publishing became a standing authorized step (mirror, commit, push; the only manual gate left is the Git credential). The build tree got hygiene rules after 86 MB of stray working snapshots were found inside the deploy directory. And the project’s history consolidated into a single canonical log — one place where every session records what it did.
The analysis section also gained its first data-layer features: a tag cloud and an interactive connection map over a new song-metadata taxonomy, growing by one tagged song per session.
The flag
Then the editor flagged a freshly enriched page as light — and he was right. It had been authored from Lewisohn alone; the second primary source had a directly relevant page, including George Martin’s own track sheet, that the session had missed. The response went into the rulebook, not just the page: every page must now be built from a comparison of both primary sources, with a single-source page allowed only as a written, documented exception when the second source genuinely carries nothing. Three earlier pages that predate the hardened rule went into a remediation queue. A quality system that cannot be tightened by one sharp piece of criticism is not a system — it is a mood.
